Say You're Real Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026. This plain-English beta draft explains how the SYR beta handles information for Say You're Real. It is prepared for founder/legal review and should not be treated as final legal approval.
SYR is built around a private-by-default premise. In the current beta, camera-created photo content is designed for connected-only visibility, not a public feed.
Information We Process
Depending on how you use the beta, SYR may process:
- Account information, such as email address, authentication state, account identifiers, and account status.
- Profile information, such as username, display name, profile details, avatar/profile media, and profile preferences.
- Photos and camera-created content, including camera posts, selected photos, captions, upload/storage records, and related metadata needed to display the content.
- Comments and replies, including text, authorship, timestamps, and the photo context for the conversation.
- Photo-linked messages, including message text, thread participation, timestamps, sender information, and the related photo context.
- Views, seen states, and viewer lists, such as whether a photo was viewed, view counts, viewer records, and timestamps needed to power the app experience.
- Connections and connection requests, including requested, approved, and connected states used to enforce connected-only visibility.
- Blocks and reports, including blocked user records, report target IDs, report reasons, optional details, status, and moderation/support review context.
- Support, privacy, and deletion requests, including in-app request details and support email requests you provide when you ask for help or request account deletion.
- Device and app information needed to operate the beta, such as camera/photo permissions, local app state, app-store distribution records, and technical records generated by backend or hosting services.
Supabase Auth, Database, And Storage
SYR uses Supabase as beta infrastructure for account authentication, database records, privacy rules, and media storage. Supabase Auth helps users sign in. Supabase database tables store app records such as profiles, photos, comments, messages, views, connections, blocks, and reports. Supabase Storage stores user-uploaded media.
Media and app records are not intended to be public by default in the beta. Access is controlled through the app's account, connection, reporting, blocking, and visibility rules.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the beta, authenticate users, display profiles and photos, support comments and replies, support photo-linked messaging, enforce connected-only visibility, process views/seen states, process connection requests, handle reports and blocks, respond to support and privacy requests, review account deletion requests, maintain security, and improve reliability.
Sharing And Visibility
Your photos, comments, replies, messages, viewer activity, and profile details may be visible to other SYR users only where the app's current beta visibility rules allow it. In the current beta, private photo/content visibility is connected-only.
We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as Supabase, app-store distribution providers, website hosting providers, and support tools. We may also disclose information if required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, users, or the service.
No Sale Of Personal Data
We do not sell personal data.
No Third-Party Advertising Or Tracking In Current Beta
The current beta does not include third-party advertising or third-party tracking. If advertising, analytics, attribution, or other tracking tools are added later, this policy and store privacy disclosures should be updated before use.
Reports, Blocks, And Safety Review
You can use available in-app controls to report profiles, report objectionable content, and block users. Reports and blocks may be reviewed manually during beta. We do not promise immediate removal or a specific enforcement result, but reports help SYR support review safety concerns.
Account Deletion And Privacy Requests
You can request account deletion from inside the app where available and/or through the support process. You can also email [email protected] with the subject line "SYR Account Deletion Request" and include the account email or username tied to your SYR account.
An in-app deletion request starts a manual support review. We may need to verify account ownership before deleting or anonymizing account data. Some records may be retained where required or permitted for safety, security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, support-history, operational, or moderation-evidence reasons. Retention and deletion handling remains subject to final policy and legal review before public launch.
Your Choices
You can choose what you post, who you connect with, whether to report or block another user, and whether to request account deletion. For privacy, support, or deletion requests, use in-app request controls where available or contact [email protected].
Children
SYR is not intended for children under 13. Do not use SYR if you are under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the beta, contact [email protected] so we can review it.
Founder And Legal Review
This policy is a substantive beta-ready draft for founder/legal review. It should be reviewed before broad public launch and updated if app features, backend services, analytics, advertising, age posture, or data practices change.
Changes
We may update this policy as the beta changes. The last updated date above shows when this version was prepared.
